One Hair At A Time

As I drove down the street the radio presented the newest and catchiest advertisement they had for the day. I laughed out loud at the thought they presented. Where is the person’s head that designed that one? Too funny…way too funny!

The company that was presenting their product was dealing with “hair loss”. The fact of “balding” and the most important one “insecurity” because of losing your hair was being made an issue for the listeners that day.

The words of the advertisement rang out… “Restoring your confidence one hair at a time!”

Now I know many people that are bald… and many others that are losing their hair. The bald part or the balding part or the losing your hair part is not the funny part. Those issues are real living. “Bald is beautiful” as one of my friends says with glee…pointing to the fact that I pay way more per year for hair cuts than he does!

No one is laughing at someone that is balding!

There are balding people and bald people that will read this article. I am sure they will find this more comical than I even do.

What we understand…
We know that advertisements try to create an aura of insecurity. With words and visuals they tell us that we have a problem and that their product is the best answer for our very serious problem. If in a few words or a flash of a visual they catch our attention – they have stop out routine and have us say, “Maybe that will help us…?”

The comedy/irony is the statement and promise… “Restoring your confidence one hair at a time.” A Google Search using this sentence found about 912,000 responses…so there is a market.

Question…
What happens the day that the poor client of the hair restoration surgery loses another hair? Think of it… that tragic moment when just one hair falls from his or her scalp and goes down the drain!! There goes their confidence! By all things Holy – how will they deal with it?!?

The company has promised them their confidence back. Their long hours of placing one hair at a time back into their gleaming scalp – and all the money that they paid for the procedure – is going down the drain with their confidence? How will they deal with it?

Come on Advertisers – that one missed its mark. The creator of that one had a slow day I am afraid and was suffering from “brain deadness”.

Did you know that many Bald Men are famous and rich and beautiful? Check out the link below to see who some of them are.

I raise my Coffee Cup today to my bald friends. No one has more respect for you than I have. You guys(and gals) have a beauty about you that is amazing.

Now… on the other hand…if your insecurities are very high today… I am experimenting with crazy glue and a big bag of hair. My barber gave it to me the last time I was there for a hair cut. If you are willing to accept whatever colour comes from the bag… we can do great things together. I have the chair and the glue ready.

I’ll not only restore your confidence one hair at a time – but we can do it by the handful! And we will have a hoot doing it. I just ask for photo to be taken Before and After my procedure.

And if it falls out… I have more. The cost is nothing. It is FREE. FREE is good.

Trust me…!

PS - The above 2 Photos are of Doug Lindsay - just moments after his new application of HAIR. WOW - It aint the same old DOUG that I knew before. Rumours are that he lost it all lately - but his CONFIDENCE is as high as ever.

2 Kings 2: 23 From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some youths came out of the town and jeered at him. "Go on up, you baldhead!" they said. "Go on up, you baldhead!" 24 He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the LORD. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths.
