Her pastoral work in Kenya is as a Children and Family Minister. She is very capable and does an excellent job.

Here is her up to date account of what is happening within the city of Nairobi now.

Please continue to think of her along with all the other Canadians serving in Kenya.

January 10, 2008 Report from Roslyn Mckenzie

Hello Prayer Partners,

Greetings in Jesus Name! I would like to give you a short update on my stay here in Kenya. First of all I must take this time to Thank you all for praying for us Missionary and the country of Kenya.

I am doing well by God's grace. I just return from Malawi, was there with the Southern Missionaries to conduct the children Ministry. While there I was staying in touch with what was happening back in Kenya and longing to make it back in safety.

Though the ministry in Malawi was great with the children, I was depending on God's strength to minister effectively due to the ordeal back in Kenya, but God came through and the children were blessed.

Now I am here, the ministry to listen and to give a helping hand has began again, this time with unbelief that truly it has happened. One can't begin to imagine the pain that these people are experiencing as you listen to different opinions. Each one has their own story to tell about what the other tribe has done to them. The displaced families are overwhelming, thanks to the various churches that are coming out to support the people. Our youths here at our church are very helpful in going to the camp grounds where the families are to give support and handouts.

The atmosphere is calm, but a bit tense, businesses are resuming and life seems normal again in the city. There is a critical meeting with the President and the opposition Leader along with Church Leaders tomorrow to come to an agreement in this entire ordeal. Please pray.

I am so delighted to see my teachers as they walked into my office. Many in our church were affected. I am trusting that on Sunday they will turn out in full force, because our Sunday school resumes on that day. Where I stay is safe, but a place used for demonstration Please keep praying for us. Thanks again, your prayers are felt. There is so much to say, I wish I can tell it all.

I have been writing this email for the past three hours, the counseling has been going on all day. Pray for me that God will grant me the strength and the wisdom.

Roslyn Mckenzie
