The CAUSE to Blue Screens and Computer Freeze Ups
I have found the answer to some major computer problems. Really! I have discovered what has caused the horrific “Blue Screen”, the absolutely impossible “frozen computer”, and “stubborn computer”.
Do a Google search of “Blue Screen” and you get 5,720,000 responses for that search. That is 5,720,000 possible answers to this nightmare – yet it still happens. “Frozen computer” gets 2,320,000 responses. And “Stubborn Computer” yields 497,000 responses.
These are nightmarish problems. All of sudden it just happens and all the work that you were doing is gone. Or right in the middle of that huge project that is due tomorrow – the computer stops dead or simply refuses to do anymore.
Can anyone estimate the total loss of quality time between a husband and a wife when this happens? Can anyone imagine the tension that there has been in the home that has one computer under the “Blue Screen” – or under the great “Computer Freeze Up”.
Personally I have experienced this dozens of time. I have finished what should have been a perfectly good day – curled in a foetal position hugging another computer manual and finally rocking myself to sleep.
Now all of these problems have been directly related to the Microsoft Windows environment. This fact alone has likely kept Bill Gates awake at night – in fact many, many nights – knowing that his prized customers might jump ship and buy an Apple. Poor Bill. I feel for him.
Today – TADA – I will contact Bill and all the nice folks at Microsoft. TADA.. TADA – I have discovered the REAL PROBLEM!
Here it is… “The way that we treat our computers!” is the problem!
This discovery was made with the help of my Web Camera and also the Web Camera of my friend Terry Manley. And most importantly with the help of “Skype” an amazing program that allows you to talk to people all over the world ABSOLUTELY FREE (the program is even FREE)..and see them as you are talking!... and take their photo when they are doing whatever…
It may be as great a discovery as “Penicillin”.
You judge for yourself – look at the photo… if you were a highly sensitive computer – would you respond to this expression – for hour after hour? No – neither would I.
If the computer is subject to not only this expression but constant tapping on its lap, with occasional loud bangs on the table beside you, by something that out weighs it by 200 times – would you decide to go “Blue Screen” or “Freeze Up” too?
Then when you are little slow – the very large creature that has sat for hours in front of you – poking and prodding, rattling your deepest hard drive and RAM… yells LOUDLY – “You STUPID COMPUTER – YOU ARE A PIECE OF GARBAGE… I AM GOING TO GET A MAC!”
Lest anyone get the idea that Terry Manley is a BAD MAN… I must say that he is the MOST SENSITIVE and LOVING PERSON that I know. It is just that his computer is frightened and not able to respond the way that it should.
Further proof… is this shot of another user (me) as I waited and waited and waited. My hair was brown when I began the waiting process in front of a computer monitor… look closely at the photos – the hair is a different colour now. I have been waiting a long time.
AND I HAVE THREATENED TO BUY A MAC!
Now this posting today is absolutely NUTS for a church blog…isn’t it? What in the NAME of ALL THINGS MICROSOFT has this got to do with relationships and your(or my) spiritual life?
“Lots” – is my final answer.
Over my years of programming and fixing computers and then helping thousands of people get up and going again – I have discovered “The Computer Spouse Syndrome” – where men of women have deserted their partner for nights on end while they are locked into “Computer Stuff”.
I have watched grown men take out their frustration for the ‘machine problems’ on their family.
I have watched the worst – without even having a Computer to get angry with – they get angry with the ones closest to them. Then the family goes “Blue Screen” and shuts down.
Some things that I have noticed that are a major part of the Computer problems that I have had… you need to get away from it… yelling will not work… hitting it harder won’t work… threatening will not work… and buying a MAC won’t work either. Getting a grip on yourself will.
A very wise Doctor told me to deal with my Computer this way.. “Murray you need to start practicing the “20-20-20 Rule”. Every 20 minutes, stand up and look at something else that is 20 feet away from you, for at least 20 seconds(or more).”
I tried what he said and guess what..? No more ‘lock ups’ or ‘blue screens’ are going home with me.
Now in case you think that I am being harsh on Terry Manley – I purposely Googled his name and mine.
‘Terry Manley’ gets 682,000 Google responses to a search. ‘Murray Lincoln’ gets 865,000 Google responses to the same search. ‘Murray Lincoln’ is a bigger problem by far!
