Message from Marilyn Bush to Northview
Dear Pastor Murray and supporters at Northview
Praise the Lord I am back in Mombasa since the 14th having been longer in Nairobi than I had planned. The day that I was to have returned on the 4th, I would have landed in the middle of a demonstration and to get to my car was near the place where it was taking place. Truly the Lord guided me in postponing my departure. While in Nairobi it was having good fellowship with my colleagues and friends, some with whom I had not had an opportunity to do so for a while. We were celebrating Deborah's birthday alongside two other missionaries- I won't say who!!!!
I know that you have been following closely what is happening here in Kenya. It is a shake up and the Lord is speaking to His church having allowed this to happen. He is doing a deeper work in the hearts of His people. Last night at the prayer meeting, prayer was made for the tribalism that is within the church and country and the call was made to love another and to be one. Thanks so much for your prayers. Many of you have sent word that you have been praying individually and as a church and it has encouraged me and the Kenyans around me to know that we are part of a greater family of God.
I had to cancel the class in Mjanaheri this month because of the situation in the country. It will be re- scheduled in February. Pray as it takes place. There is also to be registration of new students. This Saturday I am to be in Mtopanga, Mombasa for the registering of new students. Pray for God’s protection as I go across the city to be there.
When I returned to Mombasa, my car which had been sitting for almost a month had a squeak in the engine. I had planned to take it to the garage last Friday, but that morning phoned and asked to bring it on Monday. Friday, there was a protest march in the city. Again the Lord protected me. I took it on Monday. It was the fan belt system which was fixed for no charge. Then I went into the center of town as I had two parcels to collect at the Post Office. Peace reigned in the city. The Scripture the Lord gave me on the day of the elections has continued to be a source of encouragement to me. It is Proverbs 3: 21 – 26.
There is a call for country wide protest marches tomorrow. Peace mediators are in the country to try and bring a solution to the situation in Kenya. We are praying that reconciliation will come become between the two leaders and that righteousness and justice will prevail.
Thanks so much for your prayers.
I appreciate each one of you and thanks so much for your faithfulness in prayer and support of the ministry here in Kenya. You are precious in the sight of God.
Blessings
Marilyn
