The Supply of Boundless Energy
It is 5:05 AM – the day looks to be hazy and cooler – but when the sun comes up it may well turn into another cooker. I feel the stirring of boundless energy within and at this stage I will likely be able to accomplish a huge amount today. I have at least seven jobs today that would be so good to get done. Boundless energy is welling up from with inside of me. It is like an unending supply of get up and go.
However yesterday started the same way – with boundless energy plus. Then last night I sat in a Movie Theater with my granddaughter watching the new “Pirates of the Caribbean”. If you have seen it you will know that it is filled with action and special effects that blow your mind. It is one massive swirl of stuff happening – all 185 minutes of it.
I fell asleep in that movie. No kidding. It was really strange. There I was watching and then there I was sitting bolt up right – sound asleep. If it is odd and a little bit weird to go to sleep when the waves are rushing over the side of the ship on the screen and cannons are blowing huge holes in the next ship….and then the next part is calm waters and a pretty girl’s face on the screen. Weird because another “last shot” that my brain had recorded was that of a toothless pirate with a knife in his mouth. Then the really weird part was the old guy that looked like Keith Richards the rock star – dressed as a seasoned pirate and talking to the hero.
My daughter later told me that it was Keith Richards dressed as the father of one of the main characters. So it wasn’t a dream after all.
I guess this is why they sell the video after the release of a film – so people like me will be able to go back and sort out the pieces.
This posting is not about the Movie but rather about energy and the supply – or lack there of.
I have come to realize that each of us have a supply of energy for a day. That day has enough problems and challenges (P and C) of its own – and the energy supply is designed to help get these “P and C” stuff done – that day. It is when I run out of the energy for that day – that it is time to shut down and stop doing “P and C” stuff.
That can happen in a Movie Theater – even after you have paid the $8+ dollars for the use of their seat – and the $10+ for their popcorn and pop.
The problem is that I must keep focused and then organize the events that will come for today. I must get going early and then allow the day to begin unfolding and the “P and C” stuff will take care of itself.
I have come to realize also that “P and C” stuff doesn’t have to all be done in one day. Some can wait until tomorrow.
Last evening as I sat in the Theater – my Cell Phone was working by itself in the car downstairs. It took three calls for me. One from a friend and the other two were from pastors that were asking me to do something more this weekend – because they were too busy. I called the friend back but left the other two to call someone else and work out their own “P and C” stuff. Believe it or not – I said no to these other guys.
When I clicked off the Cell Phone last night – it went to bed and so did I. I think that I may leave it in bed today too… hmmm?
The “P and C” stuff is still there – but today is another day and I AM READY. Now where is the coffee and the good stuff to make a breakfast… I am outta here.

I am SO glad to hear that you said no. Yeah! I am proud of you brother. I think leaving the cell phone in bed is an excellent idea. Did you?
