A Creation Story

My arms ache this morning… so does every other muscle in my body. This week is my first week of holidays. I have learned some brand new lessons. Instead of traveling a long way this year to escape – we decided to renovate. It is another kind of escape. For that reason my posts on the Northview Blogspot have been some what sparse.

When I read the Creation Story in Genesis – the idea of 7 days of God’s creating fills me with new awe. I am in my third day of renovating and the results are shown in the pictures.

First – the tile in the bathroom is/was super ugly. It is now history. Removing it was the hardest part. No… that isn’t true… maybe the getting the old tub out was….. no… getting the new tub in was. It was bigger – much bigger than the old metal one.

Second – is the planning and the plodding to get this done. My head hurts as much as my body hurts at times. But the one consolation is I am in the Home Depot Store – about two, three, maybe four times a day. That part I love – it is break and it is cool.

Third – it smells better now. The mold and mildew that was in the carpet on the floor was enough to make a person sick. Maybe it did make us sick – come to think of it.

The best part is – every day we are seeing something done.

Conclusion…
I have a brand new appreciation for my friend Larry that has renovated his entire house over this past year. I have a brand new appreciation for my friend Tim that does this every day for a living – and runs into snags all the time – and solves them.

We would appreciate your prayer for our “vacation time”. Not so much for safety on the highway –but rather on the job.
